Named after a famous Belgian statue, Manneken brought fresh Belgian waffles to Japan in 1986. They quickly become extremely popular among Kansai people as they were on their commute. I really never have had a Belgian Waffle before so I don’t have much of a reference point. But this layered Belgian waffle made in a street food vendor in Japan has got to be the best of all time.
