REBELASYON: 8 Central Luzon Politicians Tagged as Drug Trade Protectors

The incoming Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cheif Aaron Aquino reveals that they are now investigating eight (8) politicians from Central Luzon for their alleged links to the illegal drug trade in Central Luzon.

Police Regional Director for Central Luzon Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino stated that out of the eight (8) narco-politicians, five were Mayors, Two Congressmen, and One Vice Governor based on the Region's Police Intelligence.

Although the politicians were not named by Aquino, he said that the police intelligence on the alleged narco-politicians was still pending verification and further investigation was needed.

The revelations of the alleged narco-politicians in Luzon were brought up by incoming PDEA Chief Aaron Aquino after PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa talked about the reassignment of Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido to Iloilo from Ozamiz City.

Last August 7, 2016, Pres. Rody Duterte named more than 150 politicians and police officials allegedly linked to illegal drug trade. The officials named by Pres. Duterte were from local government units and the judiciary.

On August 3, 2017, Pres. Duterte showed his "updated" drug list during a meeting with mining executives in Malacañang. He even named some of the local executives and police officials on the list in public television. Recently, Pres. Duterte even identified Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog as one of the narco-politicians in the country found on Duterte's drugs watch list.
