SUPT. MARVIN MARCOS AND 18 COPS INVOLVED IN ESPINOSA SLAY BACK TO SERVICE - NewspaperPH

Police Superintendent Marvin Marcos, who was among those tagged in the killing of Albuera, Leyte mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr., was “eligible” to return in service, Malacañang said. A day after President Rodrigo Duterte mulled to reinstate Marcos after his murder case was downgraded to homicide, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the Chief Executive “respects and abides by the rule of law.” Marcos was earlier charged with murder in connection with the killing of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. but was downgraded to homicide by the Department of Justice (DOJ). The Philippine National Police (PNP)-Internal Affairs Service (IAS) had earlier recommended the suspension of Marcos and the 18 other policemen involved in the Espinosa killing.
