Authorities Recover 10 Foreign Passports In Marawi Allegedly Owned By Indonesian Fighters

The authorities have recovered 10 foreign passports, which was believed owned by Indonesian fighters who joined Maute Terror Group in Marawi Siege.
The Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Assemblyman Zia Alonto Adiong said that foreign terrorists have joined the Maute Terror Group in Marawi siege taking it as a chance to fight for what they believe.
Adiong also considered the Marawi clash as a worldwide affair and believed that foreign participants were involved in the incident.
On Wednesday (June 28, 2017), Lt. Col. Jo-Ar Herrera, spokesperson for the Joint Task Force Marawi also explained that there are no records of Indonesia hostages in Marawi. He believes that the foreign passports were owned by the Indonesian terrorist to enter the country and spread terrorism in the beleaguered city.
“Wala po tayo naririnig na report na foreigners o Indonesia na kasama po sa hostages. Ang report po natin ay may mga Indonesians, fighters na kasama ng local terrorists na nandito ngayon sa main battle area,” said by Herrera quoted by Kickerdaily.
The corpse of the foreign looking terrorists recovered by the authorities was believed came from the Middle East. Foreign fighters probably came from Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, according to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
