10 Former Child Stars, Then and Now!

Many kids have been dreaming to be an actor or actress when they grow up. So having an opportunity to start a showbiz career  at an early age is already a head start.

However, some child stars decided to quit showbiz to pursue different direction and most of them are happy and satisfied for what they have become today.

Here are the list of some famous child stars in their generation and let's see what they are doing now.

1. Goyong / Steven Claude Goyong-  He became regular of the defunct sitcom Beh! Bote Nga! a year after his runner-up finish in "That's My Boy" of Eat Bulaga! He spent his college in University of Sto. Thomas. Now 23 years old, the youngest floor director/writer of the show Eat Bulaga.

2. Tom Taus- He started out in show business as a child star in ABS-CBN’s "Ang TV.” He continued acting in movies like "Cedie" and "Anak ng Bulkan" until he moved to the United States at age 13. At 25 years old, Taus is now known as "DJ Tommy T" to Los Angeles club crowd.

3. Lady Lee- She was the 1st runner up in the Little Miss Philippines 1990 segment in Eat Bulaga.  She made several movies and was nominated for Best Child Actress FAMAS Award in the movie “ Kailan Ka Magiging Akin”. Now, she’s a nurse a mother of a seven-year-old kid and she recently appeared on "Eat Bulaga" as a guest judge.

4. RR Herrera- He began his acting career at the age of seven, appearing in the TV show Agila (1987). He later appeared in the films Hindi Ka Na Sisikatan Ng Araw (1990) and Batas Ng .45 (1991), among others. RR got his a bachelor's degree in Communications Technology from the Ateneo de Manila University. He is now a motivational speaker and executive of training company.

5. Serena Dalrymple- Dalrymple began her career in show business in 1997 after her famous television commercial of Jollibee "Isa pa-isa pang chicken joy". Her acting skills earned her minor roles in some movies, through which she began to receive wider recognition Her first movie, Haba-baba-doo, puti-puti-poo! which aired in 1998. She’s now  24 years old and recently earned her Master’s Degree in International Business in London .

6. LA Lopez-  Lyle Lopez formerly known as L.A. Lopez was "discovered" by the comedy king Dolphy Quizon in a talent search titled That's My Boy. He began his career as a child actor on the children's show Eh Kasi Bata. Garnered several Awit Awards as a child singer. He is a born-again Christian, and currently the head pastor and worship leader in Abundant Harvest Fellowship Philippines.

7. Jiro Manio-  He started acting at the age of seven in the film Pamana in 1999. In 2004, he won the Best Actor and Gaward Urian plus Best Child Actor award at Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS) for the movie Magnifico. He was a member of ABS-CBN TV network's elite circle of homegrown talent, trained in its Star Magic programme, from 1999 until June 2009 when the network terminated him for unprofessional behavior. Manio later became a drug addict and fathered two daughters named Sisha Calliope and Mishka Caxiopeia out of wedlock with his longtime partner.Comedian Ai-Ai delas Alas and other artists offered Jiro their help to get his life back on the right track, but he refused it. On January 2016, Manio was released from a rehabilitation center after months of treatment but returned to in February due to his chronic health condition.

8. Atong Redillas- He starred in several movies in 80’s and 90’s. After graduating cum laude from University of the Philippines in Diliman, he decided to become a teacher. Atong is now a Philippine Arts professor at the University of the Philippines in Manila, and still describes himself a comedian.

9. Kathleen Go Quieng- A child actress known for for Sarah ang munting prinsesa as Ermengarde (1995), Goosebuster (1991) and Rocky Plus V (1991). She’ now 30 years old and recently finished Master’s Degree in Communication.

10. Eunice “Charming" Lagusad- She is popularly known as Charming, who came to be publicly known when she played as Charming in the hit drama series Bakekang. She’s now 16 years old and a student.
