How This Toddler Dies From Drowning Several Days After Swimming Is Heartbreaking! Read Full Story Here.

Every time we feel the heat, we all know that summer is here. For some, summer is quite bothersome and irritating due to  the extremely high temperature, so we often feel much hotter with humidity. But for others, they think that hot weather is a good opportunity to enjoy summer.

There are different ways on how people enjoy  summer season such as  fishing, hiking, camping, kayaking as well as playing outdoor sports like tennis and so on. Among other outdoor activities “swimming” is the most popular one since many of us believe that it is the best way to beat the heat.

For most parents, they also take this chance to spend their time with their kids. So, going to the beach or swimming pool is really fun and exciting for us, most especially for kids who are always looking forward to it.

But before we hit the water and enjoy summer, we must first educate ourselves about Dry Drowning and it’s danger.

A 4-year-old boy named “Frankie”  had full of life and a big heart (as her mother Tara) described him). Unfortunately, he passed away due to dry drowning.

It was a memorial day, when his father (Francisco Delgado Jr.) took him to the Texas City Dike near Galveston. Everything looked fine with Frankie since he just spent his day in a knee deep water.
His parents recounted that the boy seemed to have a stomach bug several days after their beach trip. He suffered from vomiting and diarrhea. After nearly a week, he woke up and screamed out loud then took his last breath.

His father didn’t know what to do, he then called 911 but it was too late, they weren’t able to save Frankie. Doctors found out that his lungs and heart was filled with water. Therefore, the doctors concluded that it was Dry Drowning, if only they’ve noticed the symptoms earlier, they could have saved their son.

Frankie was only in a knee deep water according to his mom, but they were not aware that just by inhaling water through mouth and nose could be really fatal, not unless your kid starts coughing or looked in distress. As for Frankie’s case they didn’t know what was happening to him until he became sick at home.

This story proves that drowning can also happen even days after swimming. So as a parent we should watch out those symptoms and seek medical help as soon as we notice them.

Here are some symptoms to watch out for:

1. Coughing
2. Chest pain
3. Trouble breathing
4. Feeling extremely tired

According to WebMD , your child may also have changes in behavior such as irritability or a drop in energy levels, which could mean the brain isn't getting enough oxygen.
